Buxley History.

The oldest reference we have found to Buxley (or Buckslee) as it was then spelt is in a the 1688 document "A Mapp of the Parioch of Tranent with the port of Seaton belonging to the Right Honorable the Earl of Wintoun ", drawn by the famous map maker Joannes Adair..

The original of this map is held in the Scottish National Library, Edinburgh and is unusual in being a map of a landowners property when Adair was more famous for drawing County maps.
